What inspires my work is really very simple. I think that it is very special that humans exist on earth. Humans have always been awed by creation. I think we create because we have been created. We are naturally inspired to be part of it. For millennia we have looked out from within ourselves and seen the earth and its landscape. It is permanently ingrained in us regardless of our current love affair with technology.

I love sitting down with pen and tablet, working and re-working an image until it represents something I’ve never seen before. I find that the process tends to guide me all along the way, making suggestions to me as I work. Very little is planned. Color, form and composition simply evolve and are refined as I work. It would be very difficult and even more time consuming to do the art I do without technology. I use photography and draw using a tablet and pen. Fundamentally, I push the pixels around until the work is finished. This usually takes 10-15 hours and 15-20,000 strokes. (The app keeps track :)
